Scotland has unveiled its first “net-zero home” designed to tackle climate change, carbon neutrality, and energy use. It is intended to not only demonstrate innovative technology but also train workforce in green skills.
The project is the result of a partnership between construction companies and universities. It features a smart energy system, solar panels, heat pumps, cutting-edge battery storage and HVAC systems, all built with recyclable materials.
Due for completion in 2022, the project serves as a blueprint for future net-zero housing. The goal, ultimately, is to make Scotland’s housing stock more energy-efficient and carbon neutral by 2045.
