The UK’s largest electricity transmission project has received approval. The project, dubbed ‘Renewable Electricity Superhighway’, aims to improve electricity connection.
It will connect Ayrshire, Grampian and the Moray region and is backed by Eastern Link. The project will use sub-sea cables spanning about 440 kilometres.
The goal is to boost transmission of renewable electricity. This aligns with UK’s aim of achieving zero carbon emissions by 2050.
